I studied voice at Brigham Young University. My musical studies continued at a college in California. I later took private Masters classes from my former professor, Ray Arbizu. Mr.Arbizu had been a leading opera singer in Germany before teaching at B.Y.U.
I've been a choir conductor and music director on and off since 1973.
I had several piano teachers, one of whom had taken from a concert pianist.
I've been teaching privately for 14 years.
I sing professionally.
Music brings me great joy. It is wonderful to share it with my students.
Lesson Details
Students learn music from a variety of genres: classical, broadway, pop, rock, jazz, country, gospel and more. Students' input on song choice is encouraged.
Class consists of warmup exercises, learning new material, progressing on their songs, sight reading and music theory. Performance techniqes and whatever else is needed to help the student are also included in the lesson.
The Bel Canto school is taught for voice. Various piano schools of instruction are used.
Students are taught how to use their body properly in order to perform music with ease, power and beauty.
Expressiveness and creativity are nurtured in the students.
Instruction is taught from beginning to advanced levels in singing and beginning to intermediate in piano.
