"PAUL IS A VERY GOOD TEACHER.HE SPENDS HIS TIME TEACHING.NOT JUST TALKING."Hi prospective students, my name is Paul. I am a professional musician in the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metro area.I began studying piano at the age of 8. By the time I was 15 I was playing professionally at various venues in the Dallas area. I continued my education at the University of North Texas in Denton where I studied Classical Piano Performance and Jazz Studies. For the next 10 years I toured with various show bands on the East Coast from New York to Miami playing all styles of music, Classical,Jazz,Rock,Swing and Reaggae to name a few.As you can see,I have a wide range of experience and continue to perform all over the U.S. and Europe.
My teaching style is laid-back and patient but very focused on attention to detail.I offer a well-rounded education in Music Theory, scales, chords, improvisation, accompaniment, reading and professional perfomance.I would be a great teacher for anyone pursuing a musical career,or for someone who just wants to improve their skills as a musician.
Lessons are generallly 1 hour. Beginning students will be taught from a grade level 1 piano course, such as John Thompson or Micheal Aaron. More advanced students will be more flexible, depending on their area of interest-I.E.Classical,Jazz,Popular.Practice is a must for all my students and I like to have a one year commitment from prospective students. All lessons will include scale knowledge, broken chords(inversions),arpeggios, and general music theory. I am very laid back, but at the same time a very hands on teacher with great attention to detail.
