Yulmarys was born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, where she began her musical studies at the Vicente Emilio Sojo Music Conservatory. Her most outstanding Violin teachers in Venezuela were Francisco Diaz, Rhio Sanchez and Jose Francisco Del Castillo in the Latin-American Academy of Violin. Yulmarys has been a member of the Barquisimeto Youth Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Entrecuerdas, Venezuelan Youth National Symphony Orchestra, and Lara Symphony Orchestra. She has participated in intensive summer workshops held in Venezuela, Finland and the United States.
In 2002 she was awarded a scholarship to come to The United States to study at Atlantic Union College where she complited a Bachelor’s degree in violin performance. She has toured around the U. S. with the New England Youth Ensemble, including performances in the prestigious Carnegie Hall. Currently, Yulmarys is persuing her Master's in Violin with Emphasis in Pedagogy at Longy School of Music, under the tutelage of the well-known violinist and distinguished pedagogue Sophie Vilker.
Traditional method. I do not teach Suzuki because I believe the student can learn how to read and write music at the same time he/she is learning to play any instrument.
