How to Play Saxophone - The Saxophone (commonly called the "sax" and commonly misspelled "saxaphone") was invented by Adolph Sax in the 1840's. Since then, Sax players have been setting the world on fire with some of the most memorable solos in modern music. From band and orchestra to jazz, rock, and christian music, the sax is a versitile instrument with tons of possibility. When choosing your sax teacher, they will most likely explain the different members of the saxophone family (tenor saxophone, alto saxophone, soprano saxophone, etc.) and if you are a beginner, they will teach you the different parts of the sax (mouthpiece, reeds). A few of our instructors offer introductory free jazz sax lessons. Have fun with your Saxophone Lessons.

I have 11 years old daughter, in school she started to learn tenor saxophone. We need more prctice.

— C. N. in Hialeah, FLI'm looking for an instructor for my 14-yr old son this summer. He has been playing tenor sax for a couple of years now, mostly without private lessons. He played in the jazz band and concert band at Madison Middle School (West Seattle) this past year and he is signed up for jazz band at Chief Sealth High School next year. He began to learn something about improv at Madison, but it is my view that he needs a lot of work on technique. Despite a very positive experience with the middle sch...
— P. S. in Seattle, WAI would like my son, Jonathan, to continue to play the Saxophone. He has never had a private lesson before. His lessons were through the school program so he is not confident that he can play the instrument well.
He initially played the clarinet and transitioned to saxophone.
day time;
I am interested in taking saxophone lessons. Your rates seem fair and you are located close to me (Garfield), so traveling to your studio should not be a problem. I have played drums for 15 years, fool around on piano and guitar a bit. I just bought a new saxophone, albeit a cheap one, just to see if maybe I can do well with this instrument. I am interested in playing some sort of brass. I love the sound. Please contact me in regards to scheduling and anything else you might want to know
— B. M. in Garfield, NJI am looking for an instructor for my husband (it would be a gift for him). He played, I believe, in junior high and high school and we have a three year old son who loves music and throuhg him I see my husband's renewed interest and desire to play the sax again.
Please let me know your rates, if there are any packages, where your lessons are held, and if he would need to purchase his own sax.
and I look forward to hearing from you
I am currently taking lessons from George Tricomi for improvisation in Fair Oaks. I'm a Junior in the Oak Ridge Jazz Ensemble. Ive been taking lessons from George for several years, but I really want a teacher who's primary instrument is the saxophone and i just want to try some other teachers. Kurtis Gaeser from the Folsom Jazz recommended you to me. I just want to learn all there is to know about theory and improv and be a killer sax player. I'm already the solo guy at my school but I ...
