Turn your passion into skills into a career with a real LA Working Actor!

As an actress of 22 years, I love teaching my students the art of telling a story. I started my training in the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts program, following on to Interlochen Arts Academy and eventually private training in Los Angeles. I have credits in regional theater, television (Peacock's Based On A True Story, Netflix's Dear White People, The CW's Worst Birthday Ever, TruTV's Adam Ruins Everything), countless national commercials, and more. Together, we will explore several different methods including Meisner, Stanislavsky, Boleslavsky, imagining, and more, to create your own unique method. In your first few lessons, we'll assess your goals, learn how to break down a script, and choose an acting method to start with. As we go on, we will build a repertoire of monologues and scenes for you to use, develop career trajectory targets, and create your own personal approach to the art of storytelling. I can't wait to start this journey with you!

About Ellysa R.

Hello! My name is Ellysa and I am so excited to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2012 and have loved helping my students realize their potential, gain confidence, and find their own voice. I have been trained in the LAMDA system, as well as attending Interlochen Arts Academy conservatory. I'm an energetic and empathetic person; my strong perceptive skills allow me to adapt to each of my student's individual needs. While we'll definitely cover the technical aspects of what you're learning, my teaching is very much rooted in who you are and letting your own voice out, whether it be through singing, songwriting, acting, or playing an instrument. I can't wait to start this journey with you!

I was apprehensive about taking a lesson online, but wanted to do something different during my staycation. Ellysa's passion and enthusiasm are contagious. She quickly put me at ease and I had a great lesson. I have only had time for one lesson so far but look forward to being able to schedule another in the future when my work schedule lightens up.

OMG! Ellysa is amazing! I'm just getting back into acting after a very long break and I couldn't have asked for a better teacher. She was super knowledgable on everything! How to market myself, the sites to go to, how to find readers as well as providing me with valuable feedback on our script work and tremendous acting techniques to boot. She is truly a seasoned professional with a big heart. You're going to love her- I know I do and I look forward to many more lessons with her! Acting teachers like her are hard to find :)

Ellysa is an absolutely crazy talented musician and taking their class was such a delight. In the lesson, I really got to learn SO much about the inner workings of singing, things I seriously did not know about. And I got some amazing feedback the whole way through. Ellysa is super knowledgeable and definitely a phenomenal human being, so incredibly nice! Can’t recommend ellysa enough!
