Beginner-friendly CSS lessons from a seasoned Web Developer

I've been using CSS in personal and professional projects since the days of CSS2, but I closely follow browser implementation of CSS3 and "level 4" specifications. I can help you with concepts such as selectors (eg. 'class' vs. 'id'), building "responsive" layouts that adapt to different device screens, and advanced practices such as filters and animation. I always go at your pace, and make sure you understand each line of code before moving on. I also have experience with Bootstrap. Ask me about flexbox! :)

    About Kae U.

Smith College gave me an extraordinarily supportive and respectful environment to pursue my education in Computer Science. The help I received from the department tutors was crucial to my academic success, and I jumped at the first opportunity to join their ranks and help beginning learners in the same way that they helped me. Since graduating in 2011 I have mostly worked as a web developer, but I've never forgotten the confidence and clarity those tutors helped me find. Today, I want to ensure that anyone with an interest in programming gets the same support and sense of community. As a veteran web developer with over 15 years of programming experience, I can teach you the latest techniques for writing clean, readable code, and creating web content that looks good on a wide range of devices. As a tutor of 7 years, my goal is to pinpoint which concepts you struggle with the most, and to provide you with engaging, easy-to-understand explanations for those concepts. I am committed to treating my students with patience and respect, especially those who don't feel they fit in with the stereotypical "tech bro" image. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a lesson, please feel free to contact me!
