Computer Programming with İren A.

I am a software engineer with extensive experience in tutoring, mentoring, and interview help. I obtained a double major in computer science and molecular biology at Pomona College. I was a computer science research assistant for around a year before I graduated. Since graduating in May 2021, I have been a software engineer, primarily working with Python and Java. I have recently mentored 50+ college students and early career engineers, including preparing them for software engineering interviews. I have extensive tutoring experience teaching high school and college students. I was a tutor in Harvey Mudd College’s Upward Bound program for numerous semesters, and have tutored high school students in subjects such as Math, Chemistry, and Biology. I also was a teaching assistant at Pomona College for numerous classes including but not limited to Artificial Intelligence, Discrete Math and Functional Programming, Advanced Programming and Data Structures, Immunology, and Intro to Genetics. I am a very goal driven tutor. I will get to know my students, their weaknesses, strengths and (most importantly) their goals lightning fast, and then we will get there together. I have tutored students one on one as well as in classroom settings or in groups. Depending on the student’s goals, I can provide student-centered and project based learning opportunities, as well as more test preparation focused help.
