Violin

My name is Mariana Yern Corzo and, to me, music is a gift we should all experience and learn about. I teach in-person and live virtual classes for violin, ukulele, and general music, tailored primarily for school-aged children, but on TakeLessons, I am focusing on teaching the violin. I have run my own private music studio for nearly a decade and have enjoyed every bit of it, especially creating meaningful memories with my students. For the past three years, I have also successfully run part of my studio via online lessons on OutSchool.com, earning over 130 five-Star (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) reviews.

        I received my Bachelor's in Violin Performance and Music Education, as well as my Master's in Music Education at Florida International University. While at F.I.U., I studied the violin under the tutelage of renowned violinist Marcia Littley (former member of the Amernet Quartet), who was a pupil of the distinguished violin teacher Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School in Manhattan, New York. During that time, I also had the privilege of performing under the direction of esteemed musicians such as Nestor Torres, Grzegorz Novak, and Kemal Gekic. 

        In 2016, I won First Place in F.I.U.'s annual Concerto Competition, where many great musicians entered for a chance to play as a soloist with the university's orchestra. Accompanied by many great musicians and friends, I played Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 4 in D Major, under the baton of world-renowned Chilean conductor Maximiano Valdés. All of this was a dream come true, and a blessing from God.

       My passion is music, and passing it along to others is a privilege I greatly love and enjoy doing. I truly hope to see you in some of my classes!
