Hi! My name is Deborah C. and I teach Singing lessons in Las Vegas! This is the best town to learn to sing because there is so much going on in the music community and so many places to perform and to meet other local performers.

-Las Vegas is the world capital of entertainment, so people here are always ready for a show! You could probably even set up a mic and personal amp right on the strip and sing a few songs if you wanted to, but for those who aren't quite so bold there are other options. -The Tap House on W. Charleston is hosted by Mark Giovi on Monday nights with a live band. There are always performances from different local professionals as well as out-of-town visitors, so it's a great opportunity to sing in front of a live and grateful audience. -The Italian American Club on Sahara and Eastern hosts a similar open mic night on Saturdays. -The Bootlegger Club south of the Strip, hosted by local performer Kelly Clinton also has an open mic on Mondays. -The Viva Las Vegas Event Center located on the Strip hosts a Sunday afternoon open mic.

After taking a few singing lessons in Las Vegas, get to know the community by showing up ready to perform! Bring the music for a couple songs, the live bands know pretty much every song or can follow a chord sheet.

Another great opportunity is know as VegasOnTheMic and every Thursday and Friday night at Money Plays near the Palm Casino. Bring your friends and family to be the live audience, and at the end of your set you will receive a professionally mastered video/audio tape of your 10 minute performance, which will also be aired on TV! This is all done at NO COST to the performer.

The theatre community is vast and growing also. If you lean toward musicals, every summer there are four musicals performed at the beautiful outdoor venue called Howard Hughes Ranch in Red Rock. This has been going on for over 30 years and many many Las Vegans enjoy going to see the Super Summer Theatre Shows.

Other local theaters can be found at most libraries and recreational centers where there are always more opportunities to perform.

The newly-built and gorgeous Smith Center for the Performing Arts is located in Downtown Las Vegas's 61-acre Symphony Park. There are three theaters in two buildings, again bringing "art" to the Vegas Music scene.

Fremont Street now hosts up to five live bands live in different areas on the weekends. Once a month the Art District downtown hosts the ever popular First Friday event, where you will find everything from drum circles, karaoke, food, bands, theatre, oh and of course- art!
