    A band only sounds as good as their bass player!

    Bass is the glue of the band, which means even if the parts are simple they have to be tight! Students can expect an emphasis on ergonomic technique and rhythm training, as well as theory behind constructing basslines. I can teach both fretted and fretless bass guitar!

    I am a guitar teacher, session player, songwriter and recording engineer. I have been teaching professionally for over ten years and have worked with hundreds of students at all levels. I have a BFA in Guitar Performance from the California Institute of the Arts and have almost 200 published recording credits with dozens of artists, have played countless shows with a variety of ensembles, and even toured nationally! My approach to teaching is pragmatic and goal - oriented, so the lesson plans are flexible to what each student wants to achieve. Students at all levels can expect to see an improvement in technique, better understanding of fundamental theory, and an expanded vocabulary for improvisation and songwriting. In addition, I run a small recording studio in San Jose, and offer remote mixing lessons using the DAW Reaper. I look forward to being a part of your musical journey!

    Trevor is a great teacher, always adjusting the lessons to meet your needs. No matter what song I bring, he is able to teach me the new techniques and style that comes along with it. He is very patient and is willing to spend as much time as you need on a section or song every week. Lessons with him are a valuable time in the week to focus on something different and immerse in music!

    Trevor is a great teacher, being able to teach you what you want to play and adapting his lesson around it. If a song you want to play has something new in it you've never seen, he'll explain it in a way that matches your skill level. Don't worry about making mistakes either, he's a really nice teacher. And he's quite fun to talk to as well.

    Trevor is patient, thoughtful and truly an incredible teacher. I look forward to every single one of our lessons. He is insightful and has a rare ability to “meet me where I am”. His own playing is unbelievable, he is an incredibly talented musician and can adapt each lesson to any style we are working on. He can also simplify complexity and can break down difficult sections into much more approachable parts. He is also a really decent person, fun and engaging. His vast contribution to my playing advancement has given me so much joy from the instrument. He is truly the gold standard.
