Spanish with Isabel W.

I am Isabel W. I am from Peru. I have taught Spanish for 5 years at the University of Pittsburgh (courses taught include Spanish I, II, III, IV, Advanced Spanish Grammar and Writing, and Spanish Conversation). I have helped my students learn Spanish and create meaningful connections to Spanish and Latin American culture (some of them traveled to Peru, Spain, and other Spanish speaking countries). I am also an online Spanish tutor, which has given me experience working with school children. I have a Master in Linguistics by PUCP in Peru, and a Master in Hispanic Lexicography by the Spanish Royal Academy of Language. In Peru, I spent many years devoted to teaching Spanish native speaker students at undergraduate level at PUCP, UPC, and ESAN universities. I also have worked many years in the proofreading section at the most important Peruvian newspaper (El Comercio). I love watching tv shows, and travelling whenever I have the chance. When I was single, I travelled a lot (inside Peru, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Colombia, are some of my Spanish speakers destinies). Today I live in New Jersey with my husband and daughter, with whom I travel within the US. My beloved daughter is 9 years old. She came to the US when she was one year and three months old: she is totally bilingual, and I taught her how to read and write in Spanish. Travelling is a very good way to learn about other cultures, but learning other language is another great way to do it. ¡Nos vemos!
